The ability to document impressions of a site quickly, clearly, and confidently in a sketch form is a vital part of the landscape architecture design process. This course helps students develop the ability to understand, document, and abstract the physical characteristics and their personal impressions of a site. Through this process, students learn to understand the design principles of a site and incorporate them into their own work. Sites studied include unique historic and contemporary buildings and landscapes in the Los Angeles and Pasadena areas.
