Landscape Architecture certificate students must take this course for unit credit; other students may choose either unit credit or 0.5 continuing education units.
This is the first workshop in an intensive 2-course series designed to teach working professionals and students about SketchUp, a software program specifically geared toward landscape architects, architects, and planners. Students learn the various ways SketchUp can be used to design, analyze, and present information and projects.

SketchUp for Landscape Architects

This course helps students improve their skills in visual interpretation and presentation of design concepts. Instruction emphasizes technique and program command terminology. The primary application is SketchUp, although supplemental software, such as Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign, also are used to generate presentation products and supporting graphics. Upon completing the course, participants should be able to create 3D models, presentation materials, supporting graphics, and various levels of detail for multiple project phases and/or deliverable product requirements. Laptop highly recommended. Internet access required to retrieve course materials.
