I’m looking to hire 2 Landscape Architects to work in our Shanghai office with me for a minimum of 6 months, ideally a year. I would ideally like one LAR with 1-2 years of experience and one LAR with 3-5 years of experience. Below is a description of the company and required skills. If hired they will need to obtain a visa with the documentation we provide. The company will also reimburse part of the airline ticket. I will be able to help them find a place to live and help them to adjust to life in China. I lived in Beijing last year and currently live in Shanghai. We are also looking to hire 1 intern for a 3 or 6 month internship.

Description:    

Ninbo Tengtou Landscape Design Company is seeking 2 Landscape Architects to join our team in Shanghai, China.  We are an experienced and creative group of professionals dedicated to providing the highest standards of innovative, aesthetic and sustainable landscape architecture. The ideal candidate will be one with a strong commitment to these principles, who collaborates well with co-workers and enjoys working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

 

Skills Required:          

1-2 and 3-4 years of experience in a professional setting

Strong design and critical thinking skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS5, Microsoft Office, Sketchup and other standard graphic programs.

Experience on various sized projects from conceptual design through construction documents

Ability to adjust quickly to changes in project priorities and deadlines

Accurate, efficient and organized with exceptional time management skills

Willingness to collaborate in an open studio environment

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program

LEED Certification Reviewer

Summary
Provide technical expertise and the serve as a primary technical subject matter expert for the evaluation of projects pursuing LEED Certification.

Essential Functions:

Reading and understanding of documentation of projects, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and landscape drawings, specifications, and calculations, especially as they relate to sustainable design / LEED.

Understanding LEED rating systems and templates, and documentation requirements, and applying these LEED project criteria to the review of documentation.

Provide written comments in excellent grammar and spelling explaining the results of the review, stock language may be used if standard comments are applicable.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to one or more of the following specialties: Architecture (architecture, construction, landscape architecture, interior design) Engineering (mechanical, civil, structural).

LEED AP required; with specialty preferred (BD+C, ID+C, O+M, ND).

LEED project experience preferred.

From Clarence Solodkin regarding Ecoland Internships:

My internship with Ecoland here in Beijing in coming to a close. They are looking for someone to fill the position I am vacating and asked if I had any recommendations... Please send this out on the listServe and let folks know that its a cool opportunity and great experience. The internship is for six months with the option of extension, its paid, they reimburse you $1200 towards the cost of the plane ticket, provide housing, and its good experience at a large planning and design firm. Applicant must be a degreed/registered Landscape Architect with 15+ years experience in a high end residential design/build environment and possess strong residential garden conceptual design skills, a thorough knowledge of landscape construction detailing, and construction document package organization; Must be energetic and self motivated; Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Microsoft Office); 10+ years managing  design staff; Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment for a discriminating clientele; Extensive plant and garden ornamentation knowledge; Must have the availability to build strong client relationships, have excellent communication and project management skills; Interest/Experience in sustainable design - LEED accreditation a plus.  We are looking for candidates who have a passion for residential garden design/build projects.
