Mid Level Landscape Architect (4-8 years)

April Philips Design Works is a Landscape Architecture firm committed to the integration of people and the environment through creative sustainable design. The primary role of the candidate would be as a designer/team captain for the preparation of concept design documents through production of contract documents. We are looking for a highly creative individual who can draw and ideate with ease and has a firm grasp of the design process for built work.
We are seeking a talented landscape designer/architect with a required 4 to 8 years of bay area experience primarily in mixed-use, high density mixed use, waterfront park, hospitality, and urban infill projects. The right candidate:
•Has proven experience on a number of relevant design production packages with suitable project captain/management experience for all phases of design.
•Is self-motivated and an innovative problem solver/design thinker.
•Is organized, works independently and collaboratively, and is an active team player.
•Has solid interpersonal and communication skills.
•Proficient in planting, grading, and detail development. California plants & Wucols.
•Proficient in ecological systems thinking and sustainable rating systems.
•Very Proficient in all types of software applications for landscape architecture including Auto Cad, Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and MS Office Suite. Lumion is a plus.
•Very Proficient in freehand, graphic and digital media presentation and visual communication skills.

The candidate shall have strong experience on complex landscape architecture projects. Some driving is required
BLA or BSLA is required or MLA preferred.
California PLA License and LEED or SITES accreditation preferred.
