Hey Candace,

Thanks thats all good advice. I try to stay involved with as much as I can and network quite a bit. Ive gotten a number of good interviews through this, but unfortunately most of them werent hiring and gave me the interview because I knew them, or had worked with them on projects in the past, etc. Field experience is invaluable, I couldnt agree more-my undergrad is in landscape horticulture, so during that degree I worked at a nursery, interned at a design/build firm for 2 years, and worked as an estimator/project manager for a commercial contractor for 2 1/2 yrs.

If you could send me an email at jon@jdadesignstudio.com ill reply with my resume/work samples.

yes I definetely am a snowboarder, but barely went this past year with the poor snowpack in CO:(

Thanks,

jon

Hi Candace,

I recently read your reply to Pablo in his forum on resume/portfolio advice and thought you had very good suggestions for him. I am a recent MLA grad, and was wondering if you would mind taking a look at my materials and giving me some feedback? Ive had many people I work with or know in the industry give me feedback, but Im still having a tough time lining up interviews/getting past the submission phase of applying...

Thank you,

Jon Altschuld
