Landscape Architecture Corollaries - Try This.

Try this. The next time you step outdoors to take a walk, imagine you see indoors and outdoors according to these Landscape Architecture Corollaries:Corollary 1. In the beginning there was one: landscape.  Landscape harbored danger for humans.Corollary 2. Humans constructed shelters.  Then there were two: landscape, and, the shelters in the landscape.Corollary 3. And today still, humans essentially move through the landscape from shelter to shelter.Corollary 4. Architecture is shelter.Corollary…See More

Edward Flaherty replied to henry cohen's discussion 'Usage of Native Plant Material in Landscape Architecture'
"Andrew, you wrote: "The only argument that I can see about not using all natives is purely aesthetic." There is another argument or so. Native plants are sometimes part of an ecosystem within which they serve as habitat for other life…"

Edward Flaherty replied to Alissa Schlecht's discussion 'The Artist Dillema'

Edward Flaherty commented on Lucy Wang's blog post 'Filmtastic Fridays - I Want to be a Landscape Architect'
"Fantastic--beautiful--I think your movie should be required in every middle school and high school in the United States--it is greater than activism--landscape architecture is about building and maintaining.  Your story makes it very clear.…"

Thomas Kinkade, landscape painter, has passed away.  Looking at his work I wonder, just exactly where the vision of a painter and the practice of landscape architecture share some ground?  Comments?…

Seeking Job

I am in Dubai and seeking a landscape related job.

I've been here just over two years; and from all I have seen and heard these last 5 weeks, I think the real estate storm is about to crash on Dubai, big time.

So maybe, I should write, seeking a landscape related job anywhere!

Any offer considered.

Thank you.

I have not implemented the multi-user aspect of the software yet but they provide an example project to get started on it. I believe you can also do it through the web browser and not just the standalone. The great thing about it is you can do as much as you want with the software. I plan on looking more at the implications for this tool in design education and what you suggested would be one of the aspects I would explore.
