"Walk over from Brooklyn to Manhattan, as everyone has said, on the Brooklyn Bridge, (it's a really dramatic walk, really awesome) and then go on up the west side, through Battery Park, to all the incredible parks on the West Side,…"
"Paley Park / Greenacre Park, Gantry Plaza Park, The Hudson River Park and the piers. I'll second the Irish Hunger Memorial. New FDR memorial might be worth looking at.

"I would branch out away from any degree that has you specializing in something that requires a kickin' economy. That would definitely lead me away from Resort Planning...unless you plan on saving a lot of money when it is bustling! :) Even…"
"I see what you are trying to say now, Andrew. Yes, not ideally but pragmatically.
I agree with someone that posted that a lot of the green growth is in tightening up door leaks, insulation, new windows, etc. When I worked at the City of Moscow it…"

Heather - I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you I love your posts - they give me hope! I am a first year BLA at University of Washington - somewhat in your neck of the woods. I am pursuing this degree, my second, after 25 years in the workforce (I am one of two "token boomers" in my class). Reading about the design-build business you have built is inspiring and, quite frankly, my dream as well. Keep up the good work and know that you have a fan here in Lakewood, WA (south of Tacoma) that is rooting for you!
Hhhaha! Thanks for the encouragement! I find it totally bewildering that i made the original post hoping to hear from other women about their experiences and so far 90% of the comments have been angry scowling responses from....men ;) Where are the ladies??
