Just home for the Chinese New Year...then back to the noise and chaos. The government is mad at some of the current US foreign policy so many blogs and internet sites are blocked...

But staying busy and hope I have the energy to keep going for a few more years.

hey, Mark, so i have to mention that i have adopted the MJ uniform of white shirt and black jacket--not cowboy boots yet - but that could happen. How is the StL project coming? We have an alum doing urban farming there. (he did his capstone as an urban farm on the Pruitt Igoe site. we are also gearing up various initiatives in the community - esp. around parks as multifunctional landscapes. we would like to get you back if we can put together some cash. meanwhile Dave Pitt and i do our best to keep Landscape Journal afloat; we will have a special issue on Larry Halprin in about a year + best regards, lance

Hi Mark. Are you still in Denver or elsewhere? I've published Drawing Shortcuts Second Edition and have some very interesting planning projects in China and UAE I've designed over the past five years that I'd enjoy showing you, plus hearing where you and Civitas are headed in 2010. Jim

Usage of Native Plant Material in Landscape Architecture 52 Replies

Can anyone out there recommend sites that would have somewhat scholarly papers on the use of native plants. I am looking for advocates of this practice and those who feel it is nonsense. I'm not looking for books, looking for papers. This for a side…Continue

Driveway Grades Between Two Story Self Storage Buildings 1 Reply

Hi!Anyone know the maximum grade that would work between self storage buildings with a basement. Buildings are 65' to 75' wide, upper story and a basement story, 10' ceilings. Uhaul and Ryder trucks will need to negotiate slopes without scraping.Continue
