Martin Arredondo replied to J. Robert Wainner's discussion 'Editorial: Eligibility requirements for State Landscape Architect Licenses'
"Had I gone a different route in life I would have but I didn't decide to get into the design business until I hit 30. I was already too old to take a path like you or others and get into the military and get the GI bill thing going (thank you…"

Martin Arredondo replied to J. Robert Wainner's discussion 'Editorial: Eligibility requirements for State Landscape Architect Licenses'

Martin Arredondo replied to J. Robert Wainner's discussion 'Editorial: Eligibility requirements for State Landscape Architect Licenses'
"The exam is weak. It probably wasn't back in your day. I'll be the first to admit it. I qualified for the exam based on experience and I already knew far more than many of the people I studied with in preparation for the exam. So, to an…"

Thomas Jefferson, "Jefferson mastered architecture through self-study, using various books and classical architectural designs of the day." Robert Manning, "Manning did not receive any education or formal training in fluid mechanics or engineering." Leonardo Da Vinci, "A polymath, born out of wedlock to a peasant woman, Leonardo is widely considered one of the most diversely talented individuals ever to have lived." Frederick Law Olmsted, "Olmsted and Vaux entered the Central Park design competition together, against Egbert Ludovicus Viele among others. Prior to this, in contrast with the more experienced Vaux, Olmsted had never actually designed and executed a landscape design."

ISA Certified Arborist. I have performed site assessments on over 500 trees. It serves a Landscape Architect well to be able to understand tree biology, their impact on the site design process and the ecosystem it supports.
