"From my experience the world of landscape arch. is dependent on a PC operating system... Mac's are great for Adobe CS but otherwise PC will make your life easier. PC's tend to be cheaper as well, but you will loose the sleek Mac…"
"Michael, I should have written a bit sooner. We have some things in common. I've worked in the Newtown area and I have cousins who live in thew same development that you do. I think.
Any way. Take a look at The City College of New York's…"
"I want to thank everyone who shared their views on graduate school and beyond. It is amazing to see how some answers are very similar while other people had a completely different experience. At this point after weighing some of the…"
"5th year BLA's often do a large exit project which is called a thesis in some schools. I would be careful to compare it to a graduate school thesis that is rigorously reviewed by a committee and then becomes a published document by the…"
"was just reading some of these responses and saw that you stressed the 5 year BLA. that is what i will be graduating with come may, however, we ARE doing a thesis. i understand it may not be quite as in depth as a master's thesis, but i am not…"
"If you're looking to go back for an MLA just to get a better job, I would agree with others that it would not be worth it. The amount you would spend does not add up to what you will make. Also, going to a different program might…"
"I agree with you & Roland: if there is a particular area of interest that you a 'dying to research / explore' then by all means go with the MLA. But if it is only to continue in school to gain 'more knowledge' then I do…"

"I agree with the person who wrote that you should consider a graduate degree in another, perhaps related field. I have a BSc in Business, and MLA in Landscape Architecture. I'm very happy that I got both degrees.
If you have to quit…"
"Nothing more than a part-time interest. And its soooo boring.
Still want to get an MSLA...but on my terms, and what I want to study. I'm thinking about other degrees, an MBA for one, or possibly a psychology/human behavior degree. I…"

Any way. Take a look at The City College of New York's web site and go to the Spitzer School of Architecture. There is a one year program, it's new, in Sustainability. If you could find some way to establish residency in New York, your tuition will be much less then most other schools.
"“…I really don't believe Landscape Architects have any business working at Engineering Firms.”
Oh boy, you certainly are a little out of touch Bob. In this economic climate LAs should work anywhere they can get an honest…"
