Plant and botany classes in Portland, OR

Started Sep 17, 2011 0 Replies

I just moved to Portland and want to take a plant and/or botany class to get to know the area's vegetation. I'd prefer more than a 'gardening class' and would love to learn about native plants and…Continue

Looking for info on "Central Park" style collective farm on Matsu Island China (straight of Taiwan). Anyone heard of it?

Started Dec 6, 2010 0 Replies

I have been intrigued by this public/collective garden in the center of a small town on Matsu Island, China.  It was created by the people after the government gave them the permission (which was a…Continue

I am in Paris for a couple of days - are there any must-sees?  Old and new are welcome.  But I am interested in contemporary stuff primarily.  Suggestions!

Hi Rachel,
you are just starting here and, you know, every beginning is difficult. You will find right way, don't worry. Of course, I'm up for coffee, maybe this week, if you will have a time. We'll stay in touch.

Hi Rachel, how's Croatia treating you so far? Met and had lunch with a very interesting woman from university of Hanover, Germany today who is doing some real-time public participation planning/design work in Germany (with farm owners in particular) - made me think of you, and how interesting you would have found the conversation. Her name is Christina von Haaren, if you have a chance to look her up. Let me know if you want her contact info. She seemed pretty well aware of the development issues in Croatia, but not the specific UN projects that you're going to tie into.
In any case, I hope life is good, and that you're having some fun with the project. Keep me posted!

Hello Rachel,

welcome to Croatia! When are you coming by us and where you will stay? What kind of project are you working on Vis? I'm working on a lot of projects, landscape plans and analysis connected with Environmental Impact Assessment in a private firm. I'm part of an elder generation of landscape architects, so I could connect you with them. If you need some help or advice, don't hesitate to ask. I hope you'll feel good here! We'll stay in touch.

Welcome to the land of 8. Feel free to lounge about and get acquainted. This recession is a lot closer to being over than yesterday! Make it a good day, Matt

I am heading out to San Diego for a wedding at the beginning of June and wanted to see what suggestions of different sites I should try and visit while out there.
