Urban design and landscape urbanism

Hi all, I'm a MLA student in South Africa. I have been finding lately that the lines between landscape architecture and urban design in the urban environment seem somewhat blurred. Urban designers I study with seem to want to do detailed urban open space design to the paving construction, furniture design and signage detail levels.
