Z tego wynikają dw…[Read more] -

Zresztą ów projekt wpisał sobie w dorobku, zamieszczony…[Read more]

Polscy Architekci Krajobrazu (Polish Landscape Architects) 15 years, 11 months agoDostałam do nadzorowania wykonanie projektu parku autorstwa pana dr.inz. architekta…oczywiście jedno wielkie g****.

It is a diverse field both through education and experience. The uniqueness of each individual’s education and experience through landscape architecture is very likely to transfer well to a number of other professions, but it may not be so easy to determine that most landscape architects transfer well to this or to that because of that…[Read more]

I just finished a landscape project for my eye doctor and charged his $500 bucks. But, then I use LandFX and the software is so fast that it only took me a couple hours to design the landscape and irrigation. I charged him another $500 bucks to show him how to install the drip irrigation system for his shrub beds. Hope this helps. Of course…[Read more]

Don Imus has said some laudatory things about landscape architects and I recall reading about how he involved LAs in the design of his charity ranch, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imus_Ranch but didn’t find any specific articles on my first search.
Though after his “nappy-headed hoes” comment about the Rutgers women’s basketball team, I’m not sure…[Read more]

Ashish,
Good topic. I’ve been pondering this question myself now the last couple of years. I’ve been out of Landscape Architecture since 2008 and I’ve had a real tough time finding anything beyond minimum wage jobs. The L.A.’s I know who have gone into other fields all had additional education (or training/experience of some kind) to make that…[Read more]

Ashish,
I’m a UGA grad like yourself and have been very fortunate to still have my position with the firm I started working with right out of school. On the other hand, I have been keeping up with my classmates and they have not been so lucky. When I have talked with them a majority of them have gone back to school. One is going back to be a…[Read more] -

Like I said before, I’m not really expecting the ASLA to be the only voice to promote the profession. However, I think that an organization that so many LAs pay dues to has some sort of obligation to make an effort at least. I do think it is up to everyone to speak up on their own behalf, but it would be nice to get more benefits from them than a…[Read more]

This is a bit old, but I just found this article and think it might add a little something to this discussion. It’s a small counter to my previous argument about the lack of LA news in the media. However the ASLA doesn’t appear anywhere in it.
