Bliss Landscape Architecture is seeking candidates for the position of Landscape Designer to join our growing team in beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Our studio specializes in high-end private residential projects, garden spaces, wineries, and other regionally inspired projects.

At BLA, we bring an impassioned investigation of site and architecture into our work, yielding inspired and intuitive responses to each project.  Our process celebrates collaboration, working closely with accomplished architects, interior designers, artisans, contractors and talented contractors throughout California.

Our office operates in an informal open studio format with team members being involved in all aspects of project development, including site investigation, design conception, finish details and construction administration, allowing for optimum engagement in the process.   Landscape designers receive direct, daily guidance from senior staff, including project managers and principals.


Desired candidates shall possess a passion for design, ecology and drawing.  Progressive graphic skills and a solid proficiency with digital development tools and hand sketching are a necessity.  The candidate shall be self-motivated, articulate and possess the ability to enthusiastically apply themselves to a team approach.  Traveling and reliable transportation are required for site visits, meetings, nursery visits and similar.


We are a Mac based, Vectorworks oriented office.

• Excellent design, visualization and graphic skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2018 and/or Vectorworks 2016-2018

• Adobe Creative Suite (PS, AI, ID), Sketchup Pro, Lumion /3D Max, Word, Excel

• Professional degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture.

• 0-2 years experience in a similar position.

• Additional background work in art, architecture, sculpture, photography or other creative craft.
