landscape Architect / Design Associate  (Part-time or  full time)

Our design firm specialize in high end residential projects. We are looking for  a highly talented and motivated designer, Landscape architect, as an independent contractor to join our team. This person will work directly with the lead landscape designer to produce quality work and fulfilling company duties. A qualified applicant should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in landscape architecture. The right candidate should be confident with CAD 2016/Adobe Suite/SketchUp Pro or similar, construction documents, and irrigation design knowledge is a plus. We have a flexible work environment in a serene and quiet setting. We are essentially looking for a creative individual who can take a project from inception to construction as well as help lead and grow our Design firm. Looking to start immediately.

Main duties:

–    On-site measurements as well as meetings with clients

–    Draft base plans and create conceptual and schematic design drawings

–    Creating Planting plans and Hardscape design drawings with sections and elevations as necessary

–    Preparation of drawings at each of the different phases of design, SD, DD, and CD’s

–    Update drawings during the different phases of the project phases

–    Produce presentation boards and material samples and pricing packages for clients

–    Creating cost estimates and charts with excel for various material

–    Site observation during project installation

–    Visits to nursery and tagging  plants

–    Basic Marketing skill, such as uploading project images to website blog or a type of social media

– create 3D sketch up models representing 2D designs



–    Degree in Landscape Architecture

–    Strong technical skills; such as high proficiency in latest version of AutoCAD

–    Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office , Sketch-up

–    Knowledge of plant material, preferably Southern California Natives and drought tolerant plant materials

–    Understanding of basic design principles as it applies to creating spaces

–    Strong communication skill, both verbal and written
