We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect who is passionate about their work, dedicated to working on a variety of projects, and has a desire for great design that directly impacts our client’s quality of life.  Your expertise will complement our land development services and you will be responsible for lead development of site and landscape design projects, from concept through construction.

What you’ll do

  • Develop schematic site and landscape designs, coordinating with the design team to creatively address project requirements while authoring attractive, functional spaces
  • Create illustrative concept drawings using 2D and 3D digital illustration tools
  • Collaborate with our in-house architects, , engineers and other allied design professionals on a variety of site design and planning project types and sizes
  • Plan, direct and manage the landscape architectural aspects of projects; make site and landscape design decisions independently yet coordinate with all disciplines (external and internal) engaged in the project
  • Prepare detailed hardscape, softscape and planting plans, details, sections, schedules and specifications
  • Offer expertise on zoning and site plan approvals, public hearings and municipal code interpretation
  • Provide construction administration services in the field, including observation of site and landscape installation, plant selection and close-out

Who you are

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Landscape Architecture from a LAAB-accredited school
  • 8 -10 years’ project experience in landscape design and landscape architecture
  • Wisconsin Landscape Architecture license, and/or CLARB Council Record to pursue a WI license
  • Strong design skills and a creative, efficient approach to design
  • Thorough knowledge of site, landscape, urban design and planning issues, including site planning, zoning, conventional and green infrastructure and sustainable design practices
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and Adobe skills
  • Knowledge of local plant materials (USDA Hardiness Zones 3, 4 and 5)
  • Excellent people skills and engaging team leadership skills; must communicate and collaborate effectively
  • Experience with business development and a desire to proactively drive growth for the LA studio
  • Driven, passionate, deadline oriented, and responsive to a collaborative design environment
