P. Allen Smith & Associates is a full service landscape & garden design, installation and maintenance firm in LIttle Rock, AR.  We are an arm of the P. Allen Smith Companies, which focuses on design inspiration, TV and media production, and preservation efforts.  We seek an experienced landscape designer or landscape architect to join our studio. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a passionate conservationist and design classicist on a diversity of project types.  Our goal is to improve the world around us through design, media, and leadership modeling. Our designs are known for their harmony, contextual and historic grounding, curated horticultural selections, environmentally friendly installations, and everlasting legacy status.   Clients include important private families, cultural institutions, and inspired corporate patrons.

We are looking for a landscape designer or landscape architect with 3-8 years work experience. The individual hired for this position will be involved in all aspects of project development and design, including presentation preparation, schematic design, junior staff management, and project administration. The position entails working closely with our namesake, architects, civil engineers, builders and developers who collaborate with our firm. The position entails light travel throughout the south central region and the US.

A degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA) is preferred with licensure, though we will also give consideration to suitable candidates with relevant experience and training in architecture and/or horticulture.  Horticultural knowledge and training and strong project management skills will be looked upon especially favorably.

Mandatory skills for this position:
Strong Presentation skills
Experience with CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Excellent communication skills
Ability to organize multiple projects and deadlines and work closely with a team
Excellent project management organization
Landscape Architecture License (or interest in attaining)
