SALT is looking for an exceptional landscape designer who can provide design leadership on a range of project types and scales for public and private clients.
The office looks to hire a design leader who can develop a clear vision and take ownership in their projects to see them from early ideation through construction. The office believes in hiring creative individuals, strong designers and leaders and giving them room to do their work. SALT is committed to thoughtful collaboration inside and outside the office on all pursuits and so values inter-personal and communication skills. Senior Associates are expected to push for design excellence in all areas as well as guide and lead junior designers in technical and design growth in the office.
Senior Associates provide project leadership from proposal and concept development through design documentation and construction observation. Support office wide design, research, marketing, and scheduling efforts. A Senior Associate will lead multiple projects, managing and coordinating project schedule and deliverables with project teams, and review and oversee sub-consultant work. Senior Associates seek new work and work opportunities, and participate in monthly professional events, academic critiques, or lectures, and shall seek to expand and enrich the presence of the company locally and nationally. Senior Associates shall be responsible for project profitability of their projects and seek to identify processes that strengthen design outcomes and increase office efficiencies. Senior Associates will be expected to monitor and manage projects, assessing resource allocation, schedules, and staff organization to assure projects meet expected financial outcomes. They are expected to maintain and strengthen relationships with clients through clear and regular communication throughout projects.
Candidates should be self-motivated, self-directed, well organized, possess strong communication skills, be a problem solver, and able to roll with the predictably unpredictable nature of a small office.
