Passing of Chad Crutcher

Chad Taylor Crutcher, 59, of Truckee, California, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 18, 2009 from an inter-cranial hemorrhage. His family has requested donations to Heifer International (, in lieu of flowers.

I personally wanted to pause for a moment to thank Chad for his valuable contribution to the profession of Landscape Architecture as a whole and to the Land8 community. He added a lot of wisdom to his discussions here in the Lounge and excellent design to our world. Please feel free to leave a comment below or on his profile.

  1. Oh my I am stunned reading this. Chad was a wonderful individual. I knew him professionally and on Land8. He was always ready with a smart opinnion or comment sharing his many years of experience with us. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Chad’s family.

  3. I could always count on Chad for good advice and positive feedback. The advice and thoughts he shared with me here has had a personal affect. I regret only knowing Chad through Land8, but judging from his writing here I am sure he was a remarkable man and great guy to be around.

    I am truly saddened. I think the signature he always left at the end of his posts says a lot about his philosophy on life and what he believed in, ‘Do well, doing good.’

  4. I didn’t know Chad personally but knew him through his work which left a mark on me. It is always very sad to see a landscape architect of his stature pass. He will be missed.

  5. I didn’t know Chad personally and only had a brief discussion with him on land 8, The discussion board will be a Iesser place now. I found his writings and comments really got to the heart of things, his comments were always very inciteful and enjoyable to read. I am also saddened for his passing.

  6. didnt know him nor have had any exchanges with him but reading about some of his works here at land8 convinced me he was an excellent LA anda human being. i do wish my deepest condolences to the grieving family. its a loss to the land8 family.
