Chad Crutcher replied to Megan Terry's discussion 'Professionals-What makes a portfolio great?'
"I think the universities need to at least expose students to more marketing concepts, processes, etc. This would go a long way to reduce some of the angst over getting that first job...its the same as getting the next project. The best investment…"

Chad Crutcher replied to Megan Terry's discussion 'Professionals-What makes a portfolio great?'
"Jason, I like your style, although I am no techie. But the point you made that was a bit hidden in the way you said it was to be adaptable to the situation. In terms of submitting on-line or by hard copy or in person, no matter the graphics, great…"

Chad Crutcher replied to Jason T. Radice's discussion 'Gehry chosen for Eisenhower Memorial in DC'
"The tree in the middle reminds me of the famous Eisenhower Tree at Augusta National's 17th fairway (I think its the 17th). Watch the Masters weekend after next and you'll see what I mean. I can completely accept that this may have been…"

Chad Crutcher replied to Trace One's discussion 'Pritzker Prize Winnners Seeking Landscape Architectural Help'
"One must remember that both the architects and the museums are often seeking to create a building that is an iconic work of art in its own right. Problem is, designing to create an icon is far different than designing a successful building that…"

Chad Crutcher replied to Kevin Sullivan's discussion 'entering the LA field'
"Craig, You and I are in complete agreement. I think that is why I was more surprised than feeling abused. And don't let this format limit your sense of freedom to speak your mind. The only rule is civility. Keep posting. Stirring the pot is…"

Chad Crutcher replied to Kevin Sullivan's discussion 'entering the LA field'
"Craig, I am a little surprised you consider my comments uniformed (referencing the watch the news remark). Did I not elude to the wide swath of pain across the economy? And, I have done the deliver the pizza thing. Even more demeaning jobs than…"

Good luck w/ NDOT. I heard they were looking for a landscape architect. Let me know when you're going to be up here; maybe we can meet.

Kiley Ranch is still there, moving slow as is everyone else. Much of what you, and I for that matter, worked on a few years back is probably built. I'd say they're maybe 60 -70% built out. but they'll be around for awhile.

You're welcome Chad. I worked on a project in Sparks called Kiley Ranch while I was with Stantec here in LV. I suppose that's another project that disappeared with the recession! Who knows, I may be in Carson City in the future. I just got a job eligibility letter from NDOT.
