Senior Landscape Architect

Job Overview:
Dana Brown & Associates (DBA) is seeking a creative problem-solver who embraces our philosophy of integrating design and science into our projects. DBA is the go-to landscape architecture and planning consulting firm for design compelling public and private spaces, stormwater management and nature-based solutions, immersive community engagement, comprehensive and city plans, and master development plans. DBA is known for excellent client service as evident in our repeat client portfolio. We are located in New Orleans and work across Louisiana and the Gulf South.

Founded in 2004 under another name, our 20 years of experience in diverse realms of planning and design, including urban design, park design, site planning, and community planning at many scales to which you will be exposed. We welcome landscape architects who offer specialized niches, such as beautiful 3D renderings or detailed green infrastructure calculations and design. Many of our staff are exceptional at many aspects of our work.

• Applicants should be prepared to submit work samples that display their full breadth of their experience.
• Ideally, a successful applicant would be relocated to the Greater New Orleans region by May 20th.

Requirements:

• An advanced understanding of landscape architecture
• Ability to think critically and logically
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Creates and maintains a positive team environment
• Proactive project management that results in meeting schedules, quality, and budgets
• Effective communication with DBA staff, clients, and the public
• Ability to make effective client and public presentations
• Detailed reviews of work for accuracy and completeness
• Time management skills
• Ability to manage several projects at the same time

Required Skills:

• Strong graphic skills, including hand drawing for sketches
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and LandFX required; Civil 3D a plus
• Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp required
• Proficiency in Enscape or Lumion preferred
• Proficiency in Rhino or similar modeling software a plus
• Ability to prepare and review full sets of construction documents
• Experience preparing specifications and cost estimates
• Experience overseeing projects through construction

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed landscape architect in any state; can subsequently become licensed in Louisiana
• Bachelor/Masters of Landscape Architecture degree from accredited university
• Minimum of 10 years of full-time experience

Pay: $80,000.00+ per year, based on experience
