CFD’ stands for computational Fluid Dynamics. CFD is the science of forecasting fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer, chemical reactions, and related phenomena by solving the mathematical equations which rule these processes using numerical procedures.
Examples/Applications of CFD include:
- Analysis of blood flow in our circulation system
- Prediction of weather
- Analysis of air/fuel mixture flow in the combustion chamber of an IC engine
- Modeling of sea waves i.e, to study its effect on ships ….etc
- Air flow and ventilation in a room/building
- Analysing the temperatures in casting
- Drag force analysis of vehicle (i.e. Aerodynamics)
