Using a fibonacci sequence to improve the design of realistic 3D tree symbols

I recently read this article : http://www.naturalnews.com/043351_solar_energy_13-year-old_inventor_Fibonacci_sequence.html# and it occurred to me that the same formulas could be used to develop better 3D tree symbols. Is anyone in the industry utilizing these formulas to develop more realistic 3D tree symbols?

I remember reading an article detailing how bamboo cell structure was organized following Fibonacci’s number.

Could probably be effective to design virtual trees following Nature’s ways…
