DC Metro rips out ‘Phantom Planter’s” plantings.

Gotta love the DC Metro and their ever present ineptness and tendency to do the entirely wrong thing. From the ill-fated attempt to needlessly “redesign” several Metro Stations, the constant crying poverty, and the escalators/elevators that never work (not to mention the accidents), it would seem that some dude who planted, on his own dime, hundred of flowering plants at the Dupont Circle station would not be on the top of the priority list. But, alas, rip them out is exactly what they did. The landscapes of the Metro are neglected and are unmitigated disasters. This man took it upon himself to clean up and improve an ugly and ignored landscape for the benefit of everyone who uses that station, and the neighborhood.
