Why do I have to be on Facebook to vote on shirt designs?

I realize I am probably in the Minority here but why do I need to be on Facebook to vote for the T-shirt designs? There are some really cool designs on there and would like to cast my vote for one of them but I can’t because I’m not on Facebook. Not sure why I have to be a member of a a different social network so that I can participate in all the events that Land8 does? Hopefully Andrew will see this and can clear up this issue for me.
