I just passed the final LARE exam and want to share my secret to success: Ray Freeman’s review courses!  There’s no way I could have conquered the LARE on my own.  Each time I attended a review course, I came away with the tools I needed to pass the next section…and let’s face it, passing is what it’s all about.

Ray’s logical and thorough teaching style pin-point what concepts may be covered on the exam, making study time much more productive.  His many years of teaching review courses, plus his on-going correspondence with CLARB to ferret out “grey areas” in prior test questions and practice vignettes make Ray a truly valuable resource.

Passing the LARE is no picnic, but Ray’s courses (and even a tutorial session) were just what I needed to succeed.  Thanks, Ray!

Congratulations!  Did you attend his workshop in Marin or join us for a webinar?

    Hi Andrew,

I attended the review courses at Point Bonita in the Marin Headlands: not a bad place to study and take in beautiful scenery.  Will have to go back again someday when I’m not thinking about test-taking.

As an aside, I also met two other review course participants who may soon be working as independent contractors with our firm.  You never know when you’ll have the opportunity to do some networking.

    Cathryn,

Which section did you just pass? I took section D two weeks ago and am curious how quickly you got your results. I used his webinar and found it to be very helpful. I really would have been very overwhelmed had I not utilized it.

    Thanks!

    Susan

Thanks, Craig.  It feels great to be on the down-hill leg of getting my license. Still have the California test to pass, but I hear that is not as grueling.

    Hi Susan,

I took the multiple choice exams first and then moved on to Sections E and finally C last December.  If I remember correctly, the results of each test were posted no earlier and sometimes later than anticipated.  It’s ironic that the most challenging thing I’ve ever done scholastically has been orchestrated by an organization that doesn’t hold itself to its own standards. Most recently, I called my state’s technical committee because I hadn’t heard from them regarding the transfer of my scores, and the employee said she has been deluged with calls from other successful candidates whose scores also have not been sent by CLARB: Very frustrating, but I see light at the end of the tunnel now and will be thrilled to have all this behind me.

I started this process over a decade ago, set it aside (not the best decision I have made) while working in the public sector, and want to finish it now. The reports I am hearing about CLARB are not very encouraging. Thank you for your response and may you have a very fruitful career!
