Best way to convert .PLT to .PDF?

I have a bunch of plot files from an old project, and no longer have the associated .dwgs. I’m trying to figure out the best way to convert them to pdf so they can be viewed, and emailed to others to view, without having to be plotted. Does anyone have any suggestions for free programs that can be used to accomplish this?

I’ve used Adobe Acrobat Pro/Distiller, but the resulting pdf seems to lack in resolution, depite setting the print quality to its highest resolution. Suprisingly, the freeware program ‘CutePdf Writer’ created a pdf with much better resolution than Adobe.

Bummer that you don’t have the dwg files. It sounds like you know how to convert from plt to pdf: Open in CAD, Plot to PDF.

I think what you’re really asking is how to get better resolution from the plt files, which might not be possible since the plt file is a means of communicating with the plotter and lacks data from the original dwg. You might want to try converting the plt back to dwg and then plotting to pdf. You’ll end up with poly-lines but they should plot better for you.
