vegetation for urban arid tropical climate

Hi all. I am interested in finding out information about vegetation (ideally endemic+ornamental) for an urban setting under an arid tropical climate (Luanda, Angola). Although tropical it is also quite dry at times and I am planning a low maintenance and minimum water needs green space.
Also, does anyone have guidance on the implementation of street trees in such conditions?
