There will be thousands of graduating Landscape Architecture and Design students graduating this Spring across the United States and abroad. For many of us, we began our education in interesting times, given the war in Iraq and a shaky, yet arguably optimistic economic state. Four years later, the state of the nation looks bleak. Regardless of you social and political views, the job market is slouching.
Following the Chinese fundamental that crisis is comprised of “danger” and “opportunity” what optimism do you have to share with the rest of us? On that note, is this a good time to forego the low-ball job market in persuit of a second professional degree in Urban Design, or Landscape?
Does accumulating another year and a half of tuition and debt in hopes of entering a more qualified professional in a better economic market make sense? Or do we dive in head first and stay nimble?
