The mangrove islands could foster a tourist experience for kayakers. The locals may catch fish enticed by the new environmental conditions the islands create with deeper, calmer and ‘cooler’ water than there is now.
The distant edifice is the Bridge of the Americas joining the North and South American continents over the Panama Canal. As the islands ‘turn’ this is the wayfinding beacon. The land facing off with the water here is the Amador Peninsula – the entertainment zone of Panama CIty. The larger islands constructed have hotels to foster the potential of this area to grow the entertainment and leisure economy of Panama City.
