Not a bad question to ask at all.  The easiest way is to select an item with the black arrow key [or hit spacebar]. Then click the Move tool which has arrows in all directions and can be found in the Large Tool Set or the Getting Started Toolbar [or hit M on the keyboard].  After the item is highlighted and you have the Move tool selected, hold down the Ctrl key, click somewhere in your drawing and then drag a copy of the item to a new location.  If you have more questions, there are lots of folks who can help.
