Ok, I will start a group, because there are a bunch of software/plugins that I use and I want to see if others in landscape use them at all.
But, in terms of the conversation. BIM software will be the used in every office in the future. It will be as ubiquitous as autocad is now. This will happen because clients will demand it. The GSA is already demanding BIM models of all buildings and getting ones made of existing buildings.
We, in landscape, have a choice between being forced into using BIM and playing catchup, or embracing it and being ahead of the curve. Though I can tell you now it will be the former rather than the latter. I have been teaching Digital Projects (made by Gehry Technologies) for about 2 years now in short course seminars as well as having used it extensively in the last year on a research project and almost without fail every time I show it to a LA or LA student they say “I don’t see how it will be useful in LA.” That said, I know that it will be years before I get to use it in a professional role, which is disheartening.
