Coming form the biggest slacker in school. Do not see things so shortsighted. School is where you get your first set of tools for the profession. It is a time that sets a foundation to be able to learn efficiently in the field. Could the program be updated sure always. As a professional would you want others just to be able to start without a degree? Just like the LARE an accredited program is acknowledgment to others that you hold the minimal competency, not the keys to the city.
