Verdant Enterprises, LLC is a small Landscape Architecture firm in Walterboro, SC, in our 15th year in business. We are presently looking for a Landscape Architect who can start within a month.  Our primary associate is leaving in three months and we would like for him to be able to orient and overlap with the new associate.

 
Verdant Enterprises is seeking an individual who shares our commitment to environmentally responsive and ecologically responsible landscape design.  We believe that the most exciting landscape designs involve collaboration among our staff members, our clients and other design professionals.  This position in our firm will offer you the chance to be involved in all levels of the design process from field work and site analysis to design development to construction detailing.
 
Our projects include a mix of commercial, civic, and high-end residential work in the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia.  We specialize in the use of native plants, innovative storm water applications and regionally specific hardscape detailing.  We strive to design landscapes that harmonize with the surrounding ecology, and maximize the natural features, spirit, and history of each site.
 
Our office is in historic, downtown Walterboro, SC, combining excellent technological support with a great open atmosphere.  We’re in the heart of the magnificent ACE Basin, an hour from beautiful beaches and the historic cities of Charleston and Savannah.  Walterboro offers a low cost of living and a wealth of outdoor activities.  We are however, planning to move the firm to Savannah within six months to one year and so we would want the successful associate to be willing to help with this transition.
 
Verdant Enterprises offers competitive salary, health insurance, flexible work and vacation schedule, as well as generous support for continuing education.  However, our work load is diminished due to the economy and the compensation and benefit package will be commensurate with the skills and flexibility of the applicant.
 
Technical proficiency with AutoCAD 2010 and Microsoft Office suite is required.  Photoshop experience is also necessary.  Familiarity with GIS, sketch-up or website design would be considered a strong positive.  Interest or knowledge of southeastern native plants is preferred but not essential.
