There is actually some pretty good research out about this subject, but not all in one place. Anyone out there want to write a book? Great subject that needs more exposure. Some places to start for your literature review:
1. InformeDesign – http://www.informedesign.umn.edu/ – totally free and easily searchable by keywords and categories
2. Research Design Connections – http://www.researchdesignconnections.com/ – great info, but I think you have to join and pay to use; you may be able to at least find abstract summaries here
3. Therapeutic Landscapes Database and Blog –http://www.healinglandscapes.org/index.html – For the TLD, go to the References page and hit ctrl + F to search (this site will be updated soon with a better search capability); for the blog (http://tldb.blogspot.com/), look under “labels” for research. I often summarize new articles and other research about this very subject.
4. ASLA Therapeutic Landscapes Research Initiative –http://www.asla.org/ContentDetail.aspx?id=20272 – I think anyone can access this site, but I’m not positive. Lots of great research summarized here – no search capability other than ctrlF, but it’s worth scanning the summaries.
5. Join our group, Therapeutic Landscapes Network 4Land8Lounge –http://www.land8lounge.com/group/therapeuticlandscapes – Other people in this group are interested in this topic as well and may have more good leads.
Best of luck!
