In the age of Google, information is everywhere and it’s easy to be overwhelmed.  How does your studio ensure that its special brand of knowledge (research, data, digital resources, etc.) is readily accessible, shared around the studio, and protected for the future?

Is SharePoint your backbone?  What about wikis?  And is there a reliable role for social media?  I’m preparing an education session for ASLA and want to hear all about your experiences.

Good points, all. Amidst the competitiveness and the turnover, is info being as safely guarded within the studio as much as it is between them? In our studio we’ve begun to use an intranet-based wiki to share both open and sensitive information. It’s great because, among other things, it’s only accessible in the office. This way, institutional knowledge doesn’t walk out the door with departing designers, but it’s also not broadcast across the internet for anyone to “poach”.
