Internships/volunteering in Portland

Hi, 

I’m a second year landscape architecture student from Toronto, Canada. I’ve got the opportunity to spend the summer in Portland, Oregon, and I’d love to get some relevant work experience, but I know getting paid work as a foreign student can be a challenge. Anyway, I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions, from firms accepting interns to NGOs needing volunteers. So far, I’ve applied to Portland Environmental Services and Atelier Dreiseitl. Any advice would be appreciated!
