is LEED an important certificate for a landscape architect?

Hi,

I am still in my study in landscape architecture. We have some lectures and courses in LEED certificate and sustainable building, it seems to take a great deal of effort and time to get LEED, I am not sure if it worth that and if I really need it. will it be much more competitive if you get a LEED certificate when pursuing a job in America?
