The latest edition of this book was published in 2006 (the student ed in 2007). Does anyone have an inside track on when/if a new edition will be coming out? I want to buy the book, but would hate it if an update came out a month from now. Wiley is the publisher. Do you suppose they’d answer questions about forthcoming editions?

Thank you for checking on it, with the author no less. You’re great! 🙂

Henry, thank you for asking. Now I’m torn, as that is just long enough to make me want the current edition now, yet close enough that it’s tempting to wait for the update. Maybe I need to get the current edition, and use it to make so much money in the next 13 months that the cost of the new edition will be pocket change. Ha! 🙂

I’m not sure that the CD is any less expensive than the book though. The CD appears to be newer (2009) and there is certainly value in the detail dwg files, but from what I’ve been able to find, the CD is priced about twice what the book is. I must be missing something. I assume the new release will come as a package deal with the book and CD?

    $325… Ouch.

Agreed. I think this is part of “paying your dues.” I’m fairly certain I bought more expensive books when I was in school and had virtually no income.

I bought mine with a 40% off deal with Barnes & Noble. If you get on BN’s or Border’s e-mail list, you get coupons up to 40% (I got a 50% one time when you use a mastercard). You can also look online for the coupon codes. I have purchased quite a few expensive books this way (great for textbooks), provided they still carry it, but and indespensible reference such as LAGS, they should offer it online.
