I have a client who would like to eliminate/control a very happy, invasive stand of Ranunculus/Celandine. (about 2 acres). It is in a mature wooded area along several creeks. I am not a fan of chemical warfare, especially in an area as sensitive as this. If they have to go chemical, I would like to use best practice and avoid killing the natives.
I don’t have any personal experience with this plant, but the Plant Conservation Alliance through the NPS has some good information on their site, as well as some people to contact for help. http://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/fact/rafi1.htm
Thanks everyone. This plant is intense–very aggressive when in the right conditions, almost kudzu-like.
My client told me they bought this plant! It is a lovely, but I my advice to everyone out there—definitely discourage it’s use under any circumstance.
