I took some online test and often LA was recommended and looking at the work it seemed very appealing too, so I’m thinking of doing it but I have some questions.
1 – If some one has extremely less experience in drawing can they do it ? What’s the learning curve ?
2 – How much is hand drawing important these days I read at some places that CAD, 3D design and tech stuff like this is replacing the hand art. What are your views on it ? What is working on CAD like ? ( I don’t know much about in depth tech stuff)
3 – What does your work entail as in what do you usually do in your work ? Is the designing public places outside only for the cream layer in the industry ? How many landscape architects do you know and what their work is like
4 – How is the pay scenario like ? Now various websites have given estimates 65-70k but the answers on some forums were a bit lower than that, so I’m asking it again also is the 65-70k for MLA or does it happen for BLA
5 – What’s the difference between licensed and unlicensed (sorry I know it’s a dumb question) since I’ll be going to another country to study this course, I’d have to get the nationality of that country in order to work there so my question is, 4 yrs of college and then some time for residence ship and what would be the chances of finding relevant work, do you know any LAs who came from another country
The thread about the salary

How is the job market like the sites I visited projected it as having average growth rate, some people on these sites though did say that it’s not really a good idea to get into Landscape Architecture
This comment was scary because I think that as a foreigner my chances would be even less
Also asking this again, as a person with very limited art/drawing skills how much would I be at a disadvantage what’s the learning curve like, how good were you with art when you started college and did you know any people who lacked the art skills, what did they do later did their skills vastly improve in college or did they move onto another field or did they just hang around for a bit

This comment about lacking art skills makes me think about my choice a lot

>This is the type of field where if you are not 100% in love with it, you should probably stay away.
I’m not 100% sure whether to do it or not… with the lack of drawing skills and me coming from another country and finding relevant work being my main concerns
How much of design work is there actually ? and what are the salaries at the start and what’s the procedure like
I hope you can help
