As we head towards the end of another season, I realize that there are many growers out there sitting on too much inventory. I have found that this is a great time for community relationship building. In Northern California, one organization that can always benefit from some generosity is the California School Gardens Network. This group shows students the joy of planting and raising vegetables, fruits and garden plants. This is an early introduction to our industry and plants the seed for the next generation of growers, farmers and horticulturists.
