Kiser + Vogrin Design (KVD) is currently seeking a Landscape Architect / Project Manager to join our team.
Located in the thriving Nashville/Franklin, TN market, KVD is an award-winning landscape architecture, land planning and urban design firm recognized for its collaborative and team oriented professional culture with a commitment to innovative design, sustainability, and client satisfaction. KVD’s diverse portfolio includes both public and private Clients with projects ranging in scope from planning to site-specific design and implementation. Our project types include mixed-use development, urban infill, large scale master planning, plazas, parks and greenways, commercial & campus planning, design guidelines, and residential design. Our current and forthcoming workload includes some of the coolest projects we’ve booked to date.
Kiser + Vogrin Design is affiliated with national and local organizations, including ASLA, The Civic Design Center, and ULI.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a superior level of design skill, creativity and a passion for continued learning and professional growth. Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient, and adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities. A pleasant, agreeable personality and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team are prerequisite…and you must like dogs.
To join KVD, you should have:
· 5-10+ years of project management experience
· A professional degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field
· A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit
· A strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills in support of a growing planning and design practice
· Strong proficiency with CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required
· Strong hand graphics, specifically at the conceptual level…yes, we still design by hand
· Strong oral, written and graphic communication skills
· Experience managing all phases of a project
· Excellent time-management and organizational skills
· Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy
· The ability to manage and coach junior design staff
· Professional licensure is preferred but not required
As a Landscape Architect / Project Manager on the KVD team you will:
· Prepare planning and site design that aligns with KVD’s commitment to innovative design
· Manage multiple complex scope from conception to completion
· Prepare designs and deliverables within project budgets and goals
· Participate in project meetings with clients, city officials and consultants for coordination
· Prepare entitlement applications and related illustrative and technical graphics
· Deliver conceptual project vision by ensuring construction documents are completed to the highest level of detail
· Manage team members and coordinate all aspects of project workflow
· Prepare contract documents, including details, sections, grading, layout and landscape plans
· Produce amendments, addenda, and bulletins
· Communicate project schedules with the design team to ensure deadlines are met
· Supervise junior staff to ensure they are executing assigned tasks to the highest level
· Coordinate, build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and staff
· Provide QA/QC on projects
· Ability to represent clients at various boards and committees (Design Review Commission, simple Planning Commission applications)

Annual Base Salary: Dependent on experience, certifications, portfolio, and references
