Artful and Endemic Landscape Architecture

Wild Land Workshop is a landscape architecture studio specializing in creating beautiful, climate positive landscapes that supports biodiversity and resiliency.  We are located in downtown Monterey CA and our work mainly focused in the rugged and rural areas of the Monterey peninsula.

We are looking for an experienced Landscape designer to join our small team. The right candidate will share our passion for sustainability and wild landscapes, while bringing artful design style, technical knowledge, and organizational skills. Familiarity for or burning interest in learning about California native plants and ecology is a must! Tasks for this position are diverse and include a little bit everything:

·       Conceptual design of high end residential landscapes with a focus on native plants, locally sourced materials and site specific water conservation strategies

·       Creating illustrative graphics – Sketching and hand drawn graphics, photoshop, sketchup, indesign, illustrator, Lumion and CAD.

·       Developing Permitting and Construction Documentation sets in CAD

·       Conducting site visits during design and construction, assisting with planting layout, etc.

·       Meeting with Clients and Design Teams throughout the design process and into Construction Administration

Our office is in Downtown Monterey. We also have an experimental farm and garden located at a historic ranch near Jamesburg.

Qualifications and skills

·       5 +  years of related work experience

·       Fluency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe CC Suite and sketching

·       A bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field

·       Strong design skills are essential.
