UK Landscape Architecture 14 years, 1 month agoI’ll have to disagree with a part of the group comment, that one about Martha Schwartz. It is perfectly justified what she said about UK’s landscape Architecture and the impossibility of the Landscape Architects from UK to overcome some bad habits. She pointed righteously at back garden culture and I’d top it up with slavery towards public’s c…[Read more]

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 14 years, 2 months agoTanya, thanks for the advice. My first option would be to get professional experience in restoration design before I go back to school and I’m very much looking into that but also looking to keep my options open. Also, thanks for the advice about the portfolio, that’s something that I’m aware of but it slipped my mind at the time. Changing now, thanks!

If you want hands-on experience you might call them to ask who does the installation of their projects. Ann Riley’s Waterways Restoration Institute in Berkley, CA might be a g…[Read more]

UK Landscape Architecture 14 years, 4 months agoLandscape architects always get confused for “landscapers” and until the general public understand the profession of landscape architecture, this will never change.

UK Landscape Architecture 14 years, 6 months agoYes I think landscape architecture in the UK needs a boost in profile. I can’t understand, for example, why the top universities don’t offer landscape architecture courses?

Middle East Landscape 15 years, 1 month agodont overlook dubai. ‘acceptance’ to the profession is better there compared to AD. market may be down a bit, but its still worth checking. commuting from AD is not bad, just around 90 mins. better still, stay there, its cheaper and more metropolitan.
