    All,

I recently sat for section 3 on the first day offered. This means I am enduring a 7-9 week wait period. I check the scores multiple times daily. I have a high level of confidence in my performance; however, it is still hard to wait this long for results.

I sat for 4 separate tests for the Certified Irrigation Designer tests by the Irrigation Association. Very similar test formats with all electronic questions. The results were instant. I was able to take all 4 sections of 100+ questions in less than a year. While I do not request an immediate result, I do think the wait time was initiated for the original vignette style tests and never got updated. The time it gives you to begin preparing for the next section are concerning.

    (Just my vent)

Thanks for the tips. Studying for section 3 right now. I agree with most statements. Graphic Standards has a plethora of information that is, in my opinion, better understood. Thanks for taking the time to comment and help fellow aspiring LAs!

    Jamie,

I figured I’d go ahead and review while it’s fresh on my mind. Here it goes.

I didn’t know what to expect with the $35 practice tests from Shake and Bake. Section 3 had 80 questions. Many of which were adapted from the previously offered Section 3 Practice Exam by CLARB. I would recommend the purchase of this material for one reason: The questions are phrased as they were on section 1 & 2. I have not taken 3 or 4 yet but would assume they are similar. The setting of stories and “Richard has been tasked with…” type questions are frequent in this practice test. Each questions has a 3-10 sentence reasoning for the answers provided. I have been practicing LA for 5 years now and the information seems… iffy at best. I am going to chalk this up as a welcomed experience. I got to focus and analyze questions the way clarb likes to ask them. If you’re looking for accurate, absolutely correct answers this will not be a thrill for you. With all this being said; if you can look at this material and seperate what the answers are from just taking it to practice your “test mode” then I’d say buy it. $35 is peanuts when you’re talking about your career, $500 test & months until the next exam. I hope this helps some of you in your future studying.

    Cheers,

    Brad

Purely for the lack of information on Section 3 I am purchasing this material. $35 is not a bad price for something that could give your brain some new information to examine. I hope I am not proven wrong. I will post back in a week or so after I’ve taken the test.

    Cheers

    Brad
