Hi folks,
A sculptor/psychologist friend has formed a non profit that aims to assist mentally and physically wounded veterans reintegrate into society through counciling and education. That’s her empathetic altruistic side at work; her creative artistic side wants to collaborate on the creation of a healing place that incorporates art and landscape. She has treated several wounded vets and has gotten as close to their condition as anyone untouched by war ever could. I wonder if I or any designer can begin to comprehend and respond through symbolic representation of landscape in a way that is meaningful and helpful to a wounded veteran. Perhaps only a landscape architect that has been to war and possesses great creative talent could succeed at this challenge. Any thoughts?
