You know I completely agree with you and we have discussed this a lot. As a profession we are so spread that it makes us as a whole look not credible. Until we can realize we have painted ourselves into one large corner we will continue to suffer and although I may disagree with some of our professors that a Messiah is coming to save landscape architecture (which may or may not be James Corner).
I will continue to push my major beefs which is we have let to many people into landscape architecture. To many environmentalists, artists and engineers. We must refocus! and conquer as a whole! And we must be critical of one another, no longer can we be afraid of making someone cry because of an obelisk in their design.
