Graduating in May with my MLA from University of New Mexico, I lived in Fort Collins before my move to NM and I am looking into moving back to the area.

it’s a little early i know, but i’ll be in the area in March trying to line up office visits and or interviews… Any job leads out there that you guys know about?

    It’s a rough time to…[Read more]

  • I am interested in moving out West to begin a career in landscape architecture. I know the current economic climate is a challenge but can anyone offer some advice on where to find an entry-level position? I am not tied to any particular Western state.

  • What an inspiring View!

  • If there is anyone who is currently out of work, I have some part time/contract work available for someone with planting design and AutoCad experience. Pay is $25/hr. Please email me your resume and portfolio to mlandis@greensystemsdesign.com

Phillip- Check with Karen Appell or Tim Terway in the NYC office. They would know of projects on the East Coast.

  • Does anyone have any interesting LID or Water Sensitive Urban Design projects they have been working on?

  • I’ll actaully be in the San Fran office for LID Training, so I will not be able to make it to Philly. Please let us know how it was when you guys get back.

  • I’ll be there… not at EDAW anymore but hopefully just between EDAW jobs. Ha Ha. I assume Alan Harwood from the Alexandria office will be there since he’s giving a presentation on Sunday of the National Capital Framework Plan. Super excited to see how that is going after all my blood, sweat and tears went into it.

I’ll be in Philly for ASLA. I know several including Bill Vitek, Dennis Carmichael, Tim DeLorm and Donna Walcavage will be there at least for the Fellow dinner Sat night.. I’m not aware of anyone else from my office (Denver) that is going.. Anybody else going? At past meetings we’ve tried to connect. Any thoughts on that?

    Anyone else going?

  • Any EDAWer’s headed to Philly for ASLA?

I’ll try to to respond to a few of these..
Have not found any gabion details from EDAW projects yet – although i’ve seen some good photos posted on the Parc Diagonal del Mar project in Barcelona.

Hopefully these framework plans lead to implementable design as they have in the past. Cultural aspects have been considered although often they seem…[Read more]

    Hi there,
I’m doing a project with 3m high free standing gabion wall using welded mesh baskets (75 x75mm grid) filled alternately with sandstone and basalt to simulate coal seam profile. Does anyone have a detail for the structural support for this kind of wall? Thanks for any info.

Craig, how far does the framework plan go?
Sounds like there are plenty interesting projects going on in China especially the brownfield redevelopment part. Did you guys associate any cultural issues with the plan? There are always stories behind those rivers with thousands of years of history in China. Besides, the reuse of industrial sites is…[Read more]

  • Craig-
those projects in China sound pretty interesting. Do you have any graphics/photos/details of the projects? I’d like to see anything you have to share, especially in regards to the reuse of industrial materials and the sustainability framework plan.

I also checked in our Alexandria office for details/specs for gabions and apparently we just…[Read more]

Also in Tinjin design for a 46 hectare software campus
