Hi Stephen, good question! I am in the recruitment game, an Aussie based in London, and working with UK and middle East companies. As some of my traditional clients have slowed in recent times, I have been looking into the Australian market. Its hard to say at the moment as the traditional festivities of Christmas, and lethargy of January means that there isnt too much action, but its certainly not as bad as the UK, USA and Dubai are now.
I havent heard of any layoffs, and some companies are talking about hiring in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne in Febuary / March. It will beinteresting to hear peoples thoughts from the coal face in the forum.
